Why it matters

A verified ID is needed before you match, join or plan a session, and before you start or join a circle. It keeps everyone you meet safe, and it keeps Allez Club 18+. Your ID check is free on every plan: safety is never something you pay for.

• Before you verify, your first 5 swipes are a preview of how the deck works. They aren’t saved and can’t lead to a match.
• Until you’re verified, a reminder stays at the top of the app. Chats, settings and every safety tool keep working.
• Your card can still appear in other members’ decks. A yes from a verified member waits until you verify and say yes back.

Once you’re verified

• Swipe and match: every yes counts now
• Join sessions and circles you’re invited to
• The Verified badge on your card
• Everyone you can match with is verified too

How it works

1. In the app, tap Start verification.
2. You’ll take a photo of your ID and a quick selfie. It takes about a minute.
3. Our verification partner, Stripe Identity, checks them. If it needs a little longer, we let you know.
4. Once it goes through, the Verified badge appears on your card.

Your check is free.

• If the check can’t be completed (a blurry photo, glare on the ID, a connection or camera problem), you can try again right away, at no cost. It’s still your one check.
• If something needs a closer look, there’s no retry: a member of our team reviews your check by hand and lets you know the decision. Until then, the app shows: “Your account will be verified manually. We’ll get back to you within 1 to 3 business days.”
• We only verify people whose identity we can confirm.

One check per account

Every account gets one ID check, and it’s free on every plan, including the waitlist gift year and Premium+ Lifetime.

You’d only need another check if you delete your account and later sign up again with the same email. That check costs C$7.99, unless you have an active subscription: Premium (monthly or yearly), Premium+ (yearly) or Community (monthly or yearly). Premium+ Lifetime and the waitlist gift year don’t count as a subscription for this, and a Lifetime ends when its account is deleted.

What we keep, and for how long

We never receive or store your ID images or face data. We keep only:

• the result, the method and the date;
• Stripe’s reference number for your check.

We keep these while your account exists, plus 24 months. Stripe also tells us the date of birth on your ID: we compare it with your card’s birth date to confirm you’re 18+, then discard it.

Other members see the Verified badge, never your verification details. All the details are in our privacy policy.

On the waitlist?

The first 1,000 in each city get a year of Premium free. Join the app with the email you used on the waitlist and verify your ID: there’s nothing to enter.

• Only a waitlist sign-up confirmed before you created your Allez Club account counts.
• Premium+ Lifetime members already have more, so they don’t get it.
